I believe certain facts, (these came when responding comments at my earlier post "ச்லம்டாக் மில்லியனர் - ஜெய் ஹோ பாடல்!")
Our ARR is a unique kind of musical genius, a perfectionist and do not hesitate to go for fusion experiments, these we know always. This moment is just one prominant peak he has reached when travelling along is journey.
Ascar is a dream award to the peoples of film industry. We know how hard we work and are getting ourselves to make our creativity at least it gets into nomination level. So these awards bagged now are absolutely a break through, we WILL see that Indian talents would be recognised much more earnestly. Without Danny Boyle, it would have taken few more years (this is my view only).
Those who see only the negativities of the film, please accept the facts as they are. We know very well about out social imbalances. We just dont like to speak / spend / share anything for the betterments of the people living below poverty line. Still we have lot of GOOD people to work for eradicating Malaria (gave very bad name to India - still to this time), Polio, providing literacy and uplifting those poor people.
This particular film is discussing about very few down sides of OUR culture. Wise people from other part of the world will not judge our India only from this film's point of view. Every society has their own ups and downs. Really what we have to do is to chase after those mean politicians who had / have to work for our developments AND extend our helping hands to those poors by any possible ways. But some of us only blame those who write books and make films on some of our cultivated slavery lives - at particular season and forgets their own responsibilities to bridge the gaps - very coolly .
Our Indian culture, humanity, arts, intelligence and spirituality . . . we have so much to project ourselved to the interested international people. These all have already been started drawing attention.
Coming back to Rahmaan, I accept your words "he has done many best musics....", the only thing was he was with the masala making peoples, though he served us nectar, might be the other qualities hindered his talents. Mostly we use our film industry as a money spinning factory. This narrowness suppresses some of our excellent talents.
Danny Boyle, was dare enough to make a film like this and we understand now that he had much more obstacles in marketing SDM, when there was no one to buy it. SDM and other similar movies are really the hybrids produced in between the arts and entertainment platforms. Indeed in our India we have been giving such gems occasionally - but some polyt(r)ic(k)s might have dragged out from some international recognitions.
WE WERE IN MUCH NEED OF SOME INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION - so here it is.
THANKS to all of the SDM Project TEAM MEMBERS.
